David Chang is one of the region’s most prominent angel investors and tech mentors. In 2022, he became the general manager of the “expert network” at the recruiting startup Hunt Club, growing the company’s database of more than 20,000 industry leaders who are paid to refer top talent to other companies. Prior to joining Hunt Club, Chang led Gradifi, a company that helped businesses offer student loan paydowns to employees, which was acquired by E*TRADE for $30 million in 2019. Chang has backed more than 90 companies as an angel investor, and he is a founding member of the investment group TBD Angels, which counts Hunt Club among its dozens of investments. Earlier in his career, Chang was director of new products for TripAdvisor, director of product marketing at the mobile content company m-Qube, and chief operating officer at the PayPal Media Network. He earned a bachelor of science in computer science from Cornell University and a master of business administration from Harvard Business School.
