Why a Tech Power Player? For advancing conversations around and funding for climate change solutions.
The philosophy of the MCJ Collective is simple: Everyone has a role to play in tackling climate change. Jason Jacobs started “My Climate Journey” as a podcast in 2019, hosting candid conversations with CEOs, venture capitalists, academics, and others involved in climate change solutions. Since then, the MCJ Collective has become a hub of innovation, encompassing the podcast, workshops, and meet-ups, and launching a venture capital fund that has invested in dozens of climate-focused startups, such as zero-waste food delivery startup Dispatch Goods and recycling facility robotics company AMP Robotics. Before starting the MCJ Collective, Jacobs launched the fitness app Runkeeper, which was acquired for $85 million in 2016 by activewear company ASICS. Jacobs holds a bachelor of arts from Wesleyan University and a master of business administration from Babson College’s FW Olin Graduate School of Business.
