Silvio Micali is the founder of Algorand, a decentralized blockchain. He has been on the MIT faculty since 1983 and is a member of the National Academy of Sciences.
Micali received his Laurea in mathematics from the University of Rome and his PhD in computer science from the University of California at Berkeley.
