Boston Marathon bombing trial verdict

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was convicted on 30 counts, 17 of which carry the possibility of the death penalty, for his role in setting off the bombs at the Boston Marathon finish line on April 15, 2013; the shooting death of an MIT police officer; the carjacking of man driving an SUV in Boston; and a firefight with law enforcement in Watertown. Jurors also decided whether Tsarnaev’s crimes resulted in deaths and injuries, which are considered enhancements to the crimes and allow for the death penalty.
